Grant Guidelines


Mission Statement


The mission of the Murphy Foundation is to carry out the wishes of its founder Katherine Murphy Riley, as outlined in the document establishing the organization. The Foundation has generally limited its grant making as follows:
  • Funding Priorities: Services for Children, Education, Environment, Human Services
  • Geographic Focus: Atlanta, Georgia, and select areas of Latin America
  • Types of Support: Capital, Endowment and Scholarship
Organizations outside of these parameters may be considered if encouraged to apply by members of the Advisory Committee.


Eligibility Requirements


The Trustees will consider all qualified applications received from organizations that are exempt from taxation under the Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c)(3). If you are a 509 (a)(3) Supporting Organization, please be prepared to provide additional information.


Deadlines


The Katherine John Murphy Foundation does not have a set meeting schedule of its Advisory Committee and will consider grants at least twice a year.
